      Markwell-Gray.
A quiet but picturesque wedding was solemnised at the Baptist Tabernacle, Rockhampton, on Tuesday, 13th inst. The bridegoom was Mr. Victor M. Markwell, only son of Mrs. W. Johnson, Bris bane, and the bride Miss Ethel Margaret Gray, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Gray, North Rockhampton. The Rev. A. D. Shaw officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of Japanese silk with over-dress of spotted ninon and an embroidered tulle veil with a wreath ot orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful bouquet of white lilies. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Evelyn Carey and Nellie Walls (nieces), who both wore pretty white frocks and carried bouquets of pink roses, which, with gold bangles, were gifts from the bridegroom. Mr. D. Mederaf acted as best man. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold Nellie Stewart bangle. A reception was subsequently held at the residence of the bride's sister (Mrs. Walls), and later Mr. and Mrs. V. Markwell left for Brisbane en route to Southport. Mrs. Markwell wore a wedgewood blue frock and hat to harmonise. Many handsome presents were received.
